Why isn’t the State Annual Business License renewal included in my annual services?   
We invoice annually for our services as well as the Secretary of State Annual List Filing Fee. This is a statutory requirement to keep the business in current standing with the Secretary of State. The notice you received is from the Nevada Department of Taxation that administers the "State Business License." Even though they call it a "State Business License" it is effectively a franchise tax. State law requires this be paid although if it is not paid, it will not affect your good standing with the Secretary of State, only the standing with the Nevada Tax Department. The state tax liability for each of our client companies is not the same as some companies have employees and must pay employee taxes, other companies pay sales and use taxes etc. Therefore, we do not involve ourselves with our clients' Nevada Tax Department filings/payments. Please forward payment directly to the Nevada Department of Taxation.
